The Real Reason Why I Started a New Blog

First, let me take a moment to thank you if you’ve gotten this far to read my “why”.  I started my blogging journey as a lifestyle blogger where I co-wrote with my sisters.  I learned SO much about building a blog and the business side of running it as well.  However, there came a point where I couldn’t remember WHY I started blogging or what my mission was, and that truly frightened me.  If you think about anything you’re doing in life right now at this very moment and ask yourself what is your “why”, what would it be?  For me, I believe you should always have two hustles:  one that fills your pockets and one that fills your heart.  And if you’re lucky, they will coexist. 

As time went on, I realized that I wanted to focus on content that truly gave me purpose and from that passion within, the Confident Calluna was born: to inspire, uplift, and dream.

In regards to choosing the blog name, I chose the word ‘confident’ to represent my belief in myself AND the amazing women who will come along this journey with me.  I chose the calluna – a flower – because I wanted to represent the growth within myself and the growth my readers will experience as well.  I love the idea of blooming because it really represents patience and discipline.  So you will see a LOT of content that relates to this theme. 

With the Confident Calluna, I want to continue to transform my passion into relatable, real-life content.  I do not want to succumb to the pressure to be perfect because let’s face it: no one on this planet is perfect.  I want you guys to get SO much out of reading my articles, and that for me, means sharing a few downfalls and lessons I’ve learned along the way. 

So, what can you expect out of my new blog?  

Today, my main goal is to create content that helps women, whether they are a small business owner, a woman that needs a little extra encouragement, or simply a woman that wants to fill her soul with even more positivity and inspiration. I want to meet amazing women that are making a REAL difference in this world, and I want to learn from them and provide a platform to showcase their efforts. I want my readers to feel like my absolute best friend and find comfort and peace through my writing no matter what stage in life they’re going through.

So, it’s that simple.  I started a new blog. I hope you join me on this journey and find this content helpful and encouraging.  I am rooting for each and every single woman out there.  Let’s go after our passions and let’s make a difference while doing it!
