4 Fool-Proof Steps to Crush Your New Year’s Resolution

So, you’ve set your New Year’s resolution, but how do you plan to work at it? If you’re anything like me around June or July, your social calendar picks up, and long gone are the plans and promises you made to eat healthily and meditate daily. But not this year!

We have a full list of things we want to accomplish, and we DESERVE to be the absolute best versions of ourselves.

If you haven’t yet set your resolution, I got you covered. Check out fifteen unique and inspiring New Year’s Resolutions for women below.

While some of my resolutions are still a work in process, I’ve always been a go-getter at heart. If I truly want something, I take a technical approach to reach it which is how I curated these four super-simple steps to achieve my goals this year. If you are a determined woman on a mission, use these four foolproof ways to crush ANY goal:

1) Write them down on paper. This will help with accountability. And when writing your goals, make them specific to YOUR needs. When you write them out, you tap into the law of attraction. Subconsciously, your habits will change and align with your goals. Revisit these goals in six months and you will be so fueled by the joy you have seeing progress toward your resolution which will push you to keep going. See step two for what to do once you’ve written these goals down!

2) Give each goal at least three small substeps. You can have all the new year’s goals you want, but a goal without actionable steps is unattainable. Now that you have the goals written down on paper, make a list of THREE small steps you plan to take. This will help you create a roadmap to achieve your goal. I always feel SO much joy when I can check a task off my list. Use these “substeps” to help you feel accomplished and give you the fuel you need to keep going. To provide an example for reference, a goal with three small substeps would look like this:

Goal: Start a new blog

  1. Research blog niches and select by February 1st
  2. Create a blog website and select domain by March 31st
  3. Attract five subscribers by September 30th

3) Find a community. It could be as simple as one other person. Find virtual groups to help you stay on track. Make sure to check in regularly to see if there is anything to support one another. Having a community allows you to share similar struggles and uplift one another when you’re lacking motivation. If you’ve been reading my articles long enough, you know how much I believe in the power of community and rising together. Find a circle of motivated, like-minded individuals, and you’re set!

4) Schedule at least five minutes to fuel your brain with one thing that inspires you daily. It could be a self-help book, a podcast, an Instagram quote, a bible verse, a ted talk, a youtube video, a song. It doesn’t matter what it is. Put aside FIVE minutes of your day to feed positivity to your mind. You can even revisit old books or videos you may have already watched. Each time you listen or read something, your brain interprets it differently, and you may get something new out of it the second time around!

If you are still debating what goal you want to work toward this year, here is a list of fifteen inspirational new years resolutions for women:

  1. Select one woman at the beginning of each month and manifest her happiness and wellbeing
  2. Swap out three of your favorite beauty products for cleaner alternatives
  3. Read five new books
  4. Incorporate ten minutes of yoga into your daily routine (putting this one high on my list)
  5. Reconnect with one old friend
  6. Schedule one social media free weekend per month
  7. Take one spontaneous road trip
  8. Donate ten items in your closet
  9. Eliminate two unhealthy food items from your diet (as long as it is permitted by your doctor)
  10. Make a new friend
  11. Save a certain dollar amount (or invest a certain dollar amount)
  12. Find one cause to give back to and passionately advocate for the cause
  13. Dedicate five minutes daily to practice gratitude (gratitude journal anyone?)
  14. Eliminate fast food from your diet
  15. Do one act of kindness daily. Keep a journal to track

So it’s that simple: write them down, select three small substeps to get to your goal, find a community, and actively schedule a time to reach said goals. Let’s get started on the right track this year, and put our best foot forward. If we can accomplish even ONE resolution, imagine the goals we can achieve once we have our momentum. What will YOU accomplish this year? Let’s speak it into existence today!
